PUNCH PRESSES

Punch presses are used to cut materials quickly. Punch presses are large machines with C frame or portal frame. The word punching is used to indicate the process of slitting the material at the first stroke. With the punch presses, partially round holes can be formed and the outer contours are cut with one stroke.

PUNCH PRESSES WORKING PRINCIPLE

Punching press machines work like a paper puncher. A drill die is quickly pressed into material and material becomes the desired shape. Scraps of the drilling process are collected in the waste container. Punching proceeds in a total of four stages. When a die punches material, it is deformed and cut. Finally, due to tension in material, when punch moves upwards, cut material returns to its same position. The higher the cutting edge of the plate, the better the edge quality.

PUNCH DRIVER | TYPES

FLYWHEEL DRIVE PRESS

A mechanical rammer is used in old machines, and force given to the rammer by a rotating heavy-duty flywheel. The flywheel drives the rammer using a pitman's arm.

MECHANICAL PUNCH PRESS

In the case of part-press mechanical presses, when the air is applied, the belt-type brake expands and crankshaft starts to rotate. The stop mechanism is operated by taking off the air. Removing air causes the clutch to open and the brake system shuts down.

HYDRAULIC PUNCH PRESS

Hydraulic punch operates a hammer with a hydraulic cylinder rather than a flywheel and is with valve or valve and feedback control. Valve controlled machines generally allow a single movement that allows the coach to move up and down. Controlled feedback systems allow the coach to be controlled in proportion to the fixed points as commanded.

SERVO DRIVEN PUNCH PRESS

Servo driven punch press uses twin AC servo drives directly connected to the drive shaft. This ensures high performance, reliability and low operating costs. A servo drive system does not have complex hydraulics or oil-cooled chillers, thus reducing maintenance and repair costs.
